Chorus pro Musica Announces 2014-15 Season!

Chorus pro Musica (Jamie Kirsch, Music Director) is excited to announce its 66th season! CpM will perform five concerts in 2014-15. Our season includes world premieres of new commissions by composers Stephen Feigenbaum and James Kallembach, and collaborations with local performing ensembles Boston City Singers and Discovery Ensemble.

 

The World Beloved: A Bluegrass Mass

November 2, 2014, 3PM, at Old South Church

Featuring Carol Barnett’s Bluegrass Mass (2007) for chorus, soloists and bluegrass band; and a world premiere new work by Winchester, MA native Stephen Feigenbaum.

 

Family Holiday Concert with Boston City Singers

A holiday celebration and new collaboration with Boston City Singers (Jane Money, Artistic Director)

 

Candlelight Christmas at Old South

Featuring our annual candlelight procession, and a world premiere new work by James Kallembach, Director of Choral Activities at the University of Chicago.

 

Spring Awakening: A co-production with New England Philharmonic and Boston Children’s Chorus

Featuring John Harbison’s Darkbloom (Boston premiere), Aaron Copland’s Appalachian Spring, and Benjamin Britten’s Spring Symphony

 

Stravinsky: Les Noces (The Wedding)

May 30, 2015, 8PM,  at Jordan Hall

Stravinsky’s masterwork for chorus, soloists, four pianos and percussion.
