Chorus pro Musica joined the New England Philharmonic’s 40th anniversary celebration to perform Sir Michael Tippett’s “A Child of Our Time”—a piece the two groups performed together nearly 25 years previously. This piece tells the story of Herschel Grynszpan, the teenager whose assassination of a Nazi official served as the impetus for Kristallnacht.
Boston Classical Review: “The heroes of this performance were the members of Chorus pro Musica. Prepared by Jamie Kirsch, the singers performed with clear diction and vitality, especially in the spirituals.”
The Boston Globe: “Chorus Pro Musica. . . sailed through both the complex chromaticism of the narrative choruses and the heartfelt but unsentimental arrangements of spirituals that punctuate critical moments in the story.”
