Chorus pro Musica presented a very intriguing World Premiere by composer James Kallembach on December 19 at Old South Church. Titled “The Tryal and Examination of Old Father Christmas: A Masque for Choir and Organ,” the piece is a CpM commissioned work for chorus SATB, soli, organ and gavel. This 20-minute piece is inspired by the discovery that Boston’s Puritan settlers outlawed Christmas in the early years of our country’s history. With soloist Ryne Cherry and chorus members Ethan Lobenstine, Anthony Amoroso, and Tori Cook.
