Latin Romantic Tenor John William Gomez was born in Tampa, Florida in 1981. After two years of vocal preparation at Miami Dade College and under the guidance of professor William Gomez, he obtained an associated degree in Vocal Performance and then transferred to The Boston Conservatory of Music under the guidance of Baritone Robert Honeysucker, Mezzo-Soprano Rebecca Folsom and Baritone Sanford Sylvan, majoring in Opera Emphasis. Winning the New England Regional Metropolitan Opera Competition and the NATS (National Association Teachers of Singers) competition has afforded him the opportunity to be invited to sing in many different countries, including Venezuela, Argentina, Dominican Republic, Israel, United States and Italy, where the famous Italian tenor Carlo Bergonzi invited him to participated in The Giuseppe Verdi Academy in Buseto, Parma. His engagements include performances with Boston Lyric Opera, Boston Opera House, Riverside Theater Works, Carnegie Hall, Tel-Aviv Opera House, Seagle Music Colony, Duxbury Performing Center, ad Jordan Hall, among others. His most recently performed roles include Nemorino from Elisir D’amore, Kaspar from Amahl and the Night Visitors, Lysander in A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Almaviva in Il Barbieri di Seviglia, and Alfred in Die Fledermaus.
