Chorus pro Musica has built a superb reputation as one of the great choruses of New England.
Known for innovative programming and high quality performances, Chorus pro Musica has collaborated with such famed
organizations as the Boston Symphony Orchestra, the Boston Philharmonic, the Boston Ballet, and the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra.
Recently, the chorus has sung at Symphony Hall, Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Center.
Whether an acclaimed concert version of Verdi's La Traviata,
a choral Pan-American Journey through Latin America, or
the New England premiere of the Chinese Yellow River Cantata,
CpM is always seeking to enrich the musical experience of its audience.
Chorus pro Musica is a choral organization of 80–90 highly talented musicians
selected by audition. Repertoire consists of choral music from the Renaissance
to the present, with emphasis on new and rarely performed choral music, as well as major
works in collaboration with other music organizations.
During the past two decades, CpM has presented concert opera performances;
in the spring of 2009, CpM performed Puccni's Turandot. Recent concert
operas have included Georges Bizet's Carmen, Pietro Mascagni's Cavalleria
Rusticana and Ruggiero Leoncavallo's Pagliacci, Verdi’s Attila,
and Saint-Saën's Samson et Dalila.
